Wolverine # 40 Direct Edition (1991) (VF)
Wolverine #40, published in 1991, features an epic confrontation between Wolverine and his robotic nemesis, Albert. The story is a continuation of the "Albert and Elsie-Dee" storyline, and was written by Larry Hama with art by Marc Silvestri.
Plot synopsis:
Wolverine brings the childlike android, Elsie-Dee, to the X-Mansion so that Forge can analyze her. Forge discovers that Elsie-Dee is packed with plastic explosives with a timer that was only temporarily paused, not stopped.
Meanwhile, Elsie-Dee's creator, the android Albert, escapes police custody and rebuilds himself using stolen electronic equipment and a stealth bomber.
Believing that killing Wolverine is the only way to save Elsie-Dee, Albert crashes the stealth bomber into New York Harbor in an attempt to destroy him.
As the bomber crashes, X-Men Jubilee and Forge witness the wreckage and fear the worst for Wolverine.
