In Transformers #52, titled "Guess Who the Mecannibals Are Having for Dinner?", Optimus Prime, determined to save Earth, sends out the Pretenders, Landmine and Cloudburst, on a mission to retrieve microchips needed for repairs. The two Pretenders, however, encounter the "Mecannibals," which are mechanical life forms that eat other robots.
