Robin #2 (1991) (VF)
Robin #2 (1991), titled "Tomorrow A Tragedy," is the second issue of the four-part miniseries Robin II: The Joker's Wild!. In this issue, Tim Drake is in his first weeks as Robin and must confront the Joker alone after Batman has left Gotham. To keep the Joker in check, Tim and Alfred use holographic technology to create the illusion that Batman is still in the city.
The main plot points of the issue include:
Joker's awareness: During a street confrontation, the Joker realizes this Robin is not the one he killed (Jason Todd) and deduces that Batman is absent. This puts the young hero at a significant disadvantage.
The Joker's plan: The Joker and his henchmen, disguised as phone company workers, sabotage Gotham's telephone systems as part of a "technology-inspired madness" scheme.
Robin's struggle: A diversion set by the Joker forces Robin to rescue a woman before he is lured into a fight with the Joker himself. The Joker soundly defeats Tim, leaving him badly beaten and shaken.
High stakes: The issue ends with the Joker knowing Robin is on his own, leaving Tim to deal with the Clown Prince of Crime's escalating plans.
