Millennium #2 (1988) (VF)
Millennium #2 (1988) is the second issue of an eight-part DC Comics miniseries that details a major crossover event. In this installment, the plot to stop the creation of a new immortal race on Earth intensifies as the robotic Manhunters activate sleeper agents embedded in the lives of many heroes.
Plot summary
A Guardian of the Universe named Herupa Hando Hu and a Zamaron named Nadia Safir continue their search for the ten "Chosen" humans who will usher in the next stage of human evolution.
The duo meets with Harbinger, but the meeting is complicated by the fact that the Manhunters now possess Harbinger's universal intel, which gives them knowledge of Earth heroes' secret identities.
With their new intelligence, the Manhunters activate sleeper agents disguised as friends and loved ones to assassinate the heroes and prevent the Chosen from being found.
Manhunter agents attack across the globe:
Lana Lang exposes Clark Kent as Superman at the Daily Planet.
Commissioner Gordon attempts to murder Batman.
The super-villain Overthrow confronts the Blue Beetle.
Meanwhile, Tom Kalmaku, who was attacked by Manhunters in the previous issue, is healed and named one of the Chosen. Another Chosen is also revealed: the Floronic Man, who is locked away at Arkham Asylum.
The issue ends with the promise of more Manhunter betrayals and attacks on the horizon.
