Earth's superheroes are tasked with protecting The Chosen from the Manhunters, an ancient force of androids created by the Guardians that rebelled and are now intent on stopping their plan.
The Manhunters reveal that they have infiltrated Earth by posing as the friends, relatives, and neighbors of many superheroes.
The issue ends with the Manhunters launching a global attack on Earth's heroes and the chosen humans.
