Ghost Rider/Blaze: Spirits of Vengeance #9 (1993) is titled "Carnival of Death" Part I, in which Ghost Rider and Blaze return to a carnival to find demons, a missing boy named Timmy, and the villainous Steel Wind. Meanwhile, a new villain named Vengeance is created by Mephisto, who is tasked with destroying Ghost Rider.
New Threat: A shadowy figure, who was punishing Steel Vengeance, turns to Mephisto for the chance to destroy Ghost Rider. Mephisto transforms him into the demon Vengeance.
Carnival Attack: Ghost Rider and Blaze return to the carnival, finding the inhabitants recovering from a previous attack by Steel Wind. They learn that Eli is making weapons and demons are still lurking around.
Missing Boy: They discover that Timmy has gone missing and offer to find him.
Demon Summoning: Steel Wind uses an enchanted eye to increase the number of demons in the area.
Rescue and Ambush: Ghost Rider and Blaze rescue Timmy from some demons, but on their way back to the carnival, they find it under attack by Steel Wind and the demons.
