Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III #5 (2019) (NM)
In Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III #5, Batman and the Turtles, despite believing they've found a way to undo Krang's combined multiverse, are confronted by Krang and his robot army. During the ensuing battle, Batman has a critical breakthrough, recovering a missing piece of his memory that makes him realize they can't win without the help of the Bat-Family.
Plot summary
The issue features a massive battle as the heroes, including Batman and the Turtles, fight the army summoned by the Joker.
During the confrontation, Batman reclaims a special device from the Joker, which triggers a painful memory: Jason Todd's death.
This restored memory allows Batman to realize that he has been fighting alone and that their strategy is doomed to fail without the help of the rest of his family.
In a heartfelt moment, Batman acknowledges his misplaced feeling of being a loner to Alfred and Splinter before leaving to find the Bat-Family.
Meanwhile, the Turtles must deal with their own complications, including a conflict between Raphael and his alternate self. The story also introduces more classic TMNT characters, such as April O'Neil.
The issue ends with the promise of the Bat-Family returning to join the heroes in the final confrontation against Krang.
